One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to lose weight is underestimating the significance of what they eat.
It is a common misconception that exercise is the most effective way to lose weight. Granted a sedentary lifestyle is a contributing factor towards obesity, it is not the primary cause. After all, there are plenty of people who don’t workout yet are still within their normal weight range. The main reason our society is faced with the largest obesity epidemic in our nation’s history is directly related to what they are putting in their mouth.
It is important to reassess how you view food. For many, food is a form of instant gratification. This causes people to structure their eating habits around what is pleasing to taste buds instead of their body. This leads to both overeating as well as indulging in the wrong things.
Another reason our waistlines keep expanding is because we live in a fast paced society based on convenience and full of fast food. It’s all about the get it quick, super size it and deep fry it attitude. The quest to get the biggest size for the best value has led us to the buffet line instead of the gym. We want to eat more and weigh less! Therefore, there must be a fundamental change in the way that we view food! You must begin to look at food as “a means to an end”. It is the path that will lead you to your weight loss goals! When you eat healthy start focusing on how good your body feels compared to when you eat junk food. Good nutrition should make you feel healthy and fit instead of sluggish, bloated, tired or depressed.
Grab a Nutritional Protein packed shake instead of a Pizza or a burger and it would make a huge of difference to your weight loss goals.
